The government says that main cities of North and East will be developed on par with international cities. Plans have been drawn up to construct multi storied buildings in Jaffna. Green parks will be created by removing unnecessary structures of government buildings. 16 major projects are being implemented in Batticaloa. A green garden will be built in Mannar. These projects will be implemented under the guidance and supervision of Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
