President Mahinda Rajapaksa will undertake an official visit to Vatican next week.

President Mahinda Rajapakse will undertake an official visit to the Vatican next week. The aim of the visit is to officially extend an invitation to his holiness pope Francis to visit Sri Lanka. The pontiff is scheduled to engage in a tour of Sri Lanka from the 13th to the 15th of January next year. His holiness will conduct several special services during the tour.
