Hudson Samarasinghe, the current Chairman of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation has started the legal proceedings against Nirmala De Alwis and several other media organizations for publishing news articles falsely implicating him as being responsible for the murder of late Mr. Premakeerthi De Alwis. Attorneys for Mr. Samarasinghe has already started the legal process to sue Nirmala De Alwis for slander, libel and defamation.
Mr. Samarasinghe’s attorneys point out malicious illogical lies that Nirmala de Alwis has made up in order sell her book in addition to her blatant disregard to the conviction of real JVP killers by the Colombo High Court and the Appeals Court of Sri Lanka.
Srilankalatestnews was able to obtain a copy of the letter of demand that has been sent to Nirmala De Alwis. The reports also confirm that Mr. Samarasinghe is extremely serious about bringing legal actions against Nirmala de Alwis as well as other media groups who published the articles neglecting to check facts for the purpose of defaming Mr. Samarasinghe’s character.
