Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Niward Cabral says that the budget of 2015 is a budget targeting the development of the country. The governor participating in a discussion programme over the national radio said that the President will present to the parliament tomorrow a budget, which has been prepared in the interest of the future well being of the country and the common masses. Sri Lanka has received excellent investments in the past.
The economy has also been elevated to a stable level. In the year 2006, Sri Lanka’s total foreign reserves were sufficient for a period of only six weeks. Today such reserves are sufficient for a period of six months. An extensive development has taken place in the country despite numerous criticism by certain groups. The majority of the people are speaking with confidence on the progress. Measures have been taken to bring a live broadcast of the budget speech over the national, commercial, city fm Tamil national and thendral sevices of the national radio from 1.00pm tomorrow.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said measures have been taken to enlighten the people expeditiously in the event of any tsunami flood or earthslips . Rehearsals are being conducted in every three months in this regard utilizing the relevant equipment. He added that many programmes have been organized prior to the national security day on the 26th of December.
A budget for the well being of the country and the people will be presented to parliament tomorrow.
