The swarnapurawara award festival will be held this evening under the patronage of the president.

The Swarnapurawara award festival will be held this evening at the Waters Edge hotel in Battaramulla under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapakse. At this function the municipalities, urban councils and Pradeshiya sabas will be presented with awards and cash prizes. A special committee has adjudged the performance of these institutions. The objective of this programme is to encourage local government institutions to improve their performances and services.
