General Elections: 170 foreign polls observers arrive

The Election Secretariat states that 170 foreign polls observers to monitor the 2015 General Election have arrived in the country.

The Secretariat said that 80 election observers from the European Union, 29 election observers from the South Asian Election Monitoring Forum, three election observers from the Asian Election Monitoring Forum and 15 observers from the Commonwealth Association have arrived in the country.

Elections Commissioner M.M.Mohammed said that 15 and 30 more foreign polls observers had arrived as per the request made by PAFFREL and the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence respectively.
