Hudson Samarasinghe Responds to the Accusations of the Wife of former DIG Vass Gunawardena

Following is a statement issued by Hudson Samarasinghe, on the recent statement made by the wife of  former DIG Vaas Gunawardena

Accusations by the wife of DIG Vass Gunawardena
As the part of media circus-atmosphere presented by the present government of Sri Lanka against the former President Mahinda Rajapaksha, his family and associates, Shayamali Perera, the wife of accused criminal DIG Vass Gunawardena has made a claim to the media saying that I have pressured her into not filing corruption charges against former First Lady, Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksha.
I categorically deny Shayamali Perera’s accusation and would like to state that I have never met this woman and have never spoken to her.
The time has come to stop deliberate false allegations, political witch-hunts, creating media circus-atmosphere and trying people in media courts. The time has come to resolve to following proper procedures to bring charges if here were irregularities regardless of political affiliations or connections.
