Six daily train services between Colombo and Jaffna.

Six trains will be operated daily between Jaffna and Colombo. An intercity train starts its journey from Mt. Lavinia at 5.10 am and stops at Dehiwela and Bambalapitiya stations. It will leave Fort Railway station at 5.50 am and is expected to reach at 12 noon in Jaffna. Another intercity trains leaves Colombo Fort railway station at 11.50 am and it will reach Jaffna by 6.00 pm. Another train bound to Jaffna will leave Matara Railway Station at 9.40 am. Normal fares of Yaldevi train from Colombo to Jaffna for the third class is 360 rupees while the second class fare is 600 rupees. The fare for the Colombo Jaffna intercity train is 1,500 rupees.
