The President says that the State resources sold to the private sector by the UNP government have been reacquired and distributed among the people.

President Mahinda Rajapakse says the present government has implemented a massive development drive to correct the injustice caused to Uva province as a result of the uprisings against imperialists in the history. He points out the children of the nation should be stakeholders of the economy which is emerging with the development. The president made these remarks while handing over Mahindodaya technological laboratories which were constructed at several schools in the Sevenagala education zone.

The southern province will become a major economic hub in the future with the construction of the air port and the harbor. The president told the people of Uva to prepare their children to reap maximum benefits from it.

President Rajapakse also recalled the injustice caused to people of Sevenagala by the United National Party by privatizing the Sevenagala sugar cane factory. However the present government was able to acquire the factory again ensuring that the people will receive its benefits.

The Mahindodaya technological laboratories which were constructed at Sevenagala Kiri Ibbanwewa Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya, Kowul Aragama Maha Vidyalaya and Sevenagala Maha Vidyalaya were vested with the students by the president. They are comprised of a computer laboratory which is consisted of 40 computers, a language laboratory consisted of 20 computers, a Mathematical Lab and a Nanesa education unit. The ministry of education has spent 18 million rupees for each of the laboratories.
